What you'll do

Under the direction of the DON, the Resident Care Supervisor (RCS) has 24-hour responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing home and their effect on resident care in a designated unit. The RCS has authority to make decisions on that unit in the areas of resident care, human resource, and financial management.

* Assists the DON in development, implementation, and evaluation of on-going service programs that assure quality nursing and resident care programs consistent with Bassett Health Network mission
* Participates in program development proposal as requested by DON
* Monitors/Maintains unit compliance with regulatory, accrediting and hospital policy for resident services, and environmental and personnel safety
* Accurately identifies real/potential problems affecting the service and implements solutions with follow-through and communication
* Assesses need for personal growth and development and takes the initiative in seeking opportunities to meet this need.
* Oversees unit CQI programs that monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care
* Fosters a service that is consistent with the resident care beliefs and shared management philosophy of the department
* Consults with residents/families though primary nurse request, direct family request, and/or direct assessment of resident/family response to condition change. Assesses resident/significant other survey responses regarding nursing care and services
* Responsible for on-going development of staff and unit specific resident care programs
* Responsible for effective and efficient fiscal management of department operations to ensure proper utilization of organizational and financial resources
* Responsible for department's operational excellence; ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies
* Manages human resources to assure quality services and promote positive employee relations
* Promotes a positive image of professional nursing and serves as a role model to staff
* Attains all agreed to goals and objectives within specified time frames, as part of the organization's overall mission
* Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards
* Follows the hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens
* Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all residents, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment
* Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra-departmentally to facilitate the department's/ unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives
* Accepts Supervisor assignment as requested
* Provides resident education as needed
* Accepts charge responsibility as directed
* Performs medication administration in an efficient manner as needed
* Ensures adequate staffing for all shifts.

What we need from you

Education:

* 2 Year / Associate Degree and Current registration as RN in NYS, required
* 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

All RN's hired and do not currently hold a BSN will be expected to demonstrate enrollment in a bachelor's prepared nursing program within 4 years of hire. BSN must be completed within 10 years. RN's licensed on or before 12/19/17 are/remain exempt from this requirement.

Experience:

* Minimum of 2 years of long term care clinical experience, preferred

License/Certification:

* Current NYS License to practice as an RN, required
* BLS Certification required

Physical Requirements:

* Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
* Occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, kneeling, lifting, pulling, reaching, stooping
* Occasional fit testing
* Frequent typing/clerical/dexterity, grasping, hearing, pushing, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, talking, walking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception)

Hazards:

* Frequent bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure

Working Conditions:

* Frequent noise

This position is eligible for a sign on bonus up to:

USD $35,000.00

Pay Transparency

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.

Pay Range Minimum:

USD $43.93/Hr.

Pay Range Maximum:

USD $65.89/Hr.
