Why We Want You

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Surgical Oncology Department. The ideal candidate will have experience as a surgical veterinary technician, has experience monitoring patients under general anesthesia in a fast-paced environment and a passion for providing high-quality care to animals and our clients. As an integral part of our team, you will work closely with Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, Assistants, and other staff members.

Compensation :

Credentialed Veterinary Technicians $29.50 - $35.00

ALL dependent on education, experience, credentials, location, nature of practice, schedule and additional responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist with physical examinations and collecting patient histories
* Strong communication skills and the ability to compassionately interact and educate clients.
* Managing medical records, reports and correspondence
* Prepare surgical suites and equipment for procedures
* Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, including patient monitoring, anesthesia administration, and surgical instrument preparation
* Monitoring general anesthesia plays an important role in this position. This includes heart rate, end-tidal carbon dioxide, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and temperature.


* Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient status, taking appropriate action to ensure patient safety.
* Accurately document anesthesia protocols, patient information, and vital signs.
* Maintain detailed records of medications administered and any complications or issues encountered during procedures.
* Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation of anesthesia during surgical procedures
* Flexibility in scheduling and multitasking capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
* Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure a safe and sterile surgical environment

Collaboration:

* Work closely with doctors and team members to coordinate and optimize patient care.
* Communicate effectively with the team regarding anesthesia concerns and patient status.

* Assisting our Doctor and Technical staff as needed with patient care
* Maintain a clean work environment to maintain any infectious disease protocols, handle medical/biomedical and infectious waste appropriately
* Maintain inventory and supplies for procedures and patient husbandry.

Qualifications:

* Current and valid Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license
* Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and common conditions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
* Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards animals and their owners.
* Knowledge and experience with handling and administering different drugs and following safety protocols.
