Medical Record Specialist

This position is classified as full-time, non-exempt (hourly) and reports to the Health Information Manager.
Work Hours: Full time, Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
What our Medical Records Specialists do:
- Create digital copies of scanned information received into the client's electronic health record.
- Collect and sort records and documentation received via internal and external sources.
- Scan paper records into the electronic health record.
- Process requests from payers, facilities, and other healthcare entities for access to medical records.
What we look for in a Billing Specialist:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous customer service experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent record keeping, filing, and typing skills.
- Ability to work independently, establish priorities and organize workload.
- General knowledge of internet navigation and research, email, fax transmission, and copy equipment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality regulations.
