Purpose:

The CRNA provides anesthetic care in cooperation with the supervising physician, ensuring patient safety and comfort during surgery.

Responsibilities:

* Follow established policies and regulatory standards
* Administer anesthesia and related care in pre-anesthetic, induction, maintenance, emergence, and post-anesthesia phases
* Participate in Quality Improvement processes
* Teach and evaluate newly-hired CRNAs, GRNAs, and SRNAs
* Manage controlled substances per policy and guidelines

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

* Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
* Knowledge of controlled substance policies
* Master's degree preferred

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

* Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania
* Board Certified or eligible by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
* CPR, ACLS, PALS certifications as required
* Act 33 and Act 34 clearances with renewal
