We're currently looking for an Occasional Caregiver in Moorpark, CA 93021

A lovely family in the Grimes Canyon/Balcom Canyon area seeks an occasional in-home caregiver for their 81 year old mother, starting as soon as possible. Backup care is needed 1-4 times per month on weekdays from 10am-6pm, and weekends from 7pm-6am (overnight). The home is located behind a private, gated ranch off the 118 highway.

The client is in the mid-stages of Alzheimer's and has sundown syndrome. She may be gregarious or occasionally stubborn. She wears adult Depends, and has a slight limp causing occasional trips, though she is ambulatory. Her husband will be in the home during care, and there may be other caregivers or housekeepers present at times. Those applying do not need to be available for all of the family's backup care needs, but should understand that there are no guaranteed weekly hours for this position. An ideal candidate will be patient, encouraging, engaging, and adaptable.

  • Weekdays, 10am-6pm
  • Weekends, 7pm-6am (overnight)
• Compensation: $22-$26 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Administering medications
• Driving client to appointments (occasional); furthest commute is 8 miles (can utilize family's vehicle)
• Hygiene assistance
• Light food preparation for client; encouraging healthy options

Requirements:

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• 2 years of paid professional caregiving experience
• CPR certified, or willing to become certified
• Bilingual in Tagalog is a plus
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, reliable transportation + valid driver's insurance
• Certified Medication Aide
• Must be able to provide at least 2 professional childcare references, or references that collectively cover at least two years of professional caregiving experience, whichever is greater
• Must be able to successfully clear a background and social media check

Compensation:

This position pays $22-$26 per hour, and the family is occasional/intermittent care, as needed.
