Verovian Nursing Agency is seeking a skilled and compassionate Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to become a valued member of a team of healthcare professionals in Louisville, Kentucky.

As a Cath Lab RN, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures and other cardiovascular interventions in our state-of-the-art Catheterization Laboratory.

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care throughout the catheterization process.
  • Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures, including obtaining patient history, performing physical assessments, and ensuring informed consent.
  • Assist cardiologists and other healthcare providers during catheterization procedures by monitoring patient vital signs, administering medications, and maintaining a sterile field.
  • Operate specialized cardiac monitoring equipment and interpret cardiac rhythms to detect abnormalities and intervene promptly.
  • Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding the procedure, recovery process, and cardiovascular health.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and infection control protocols during all aspects of patient care delivery.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research projects, and staff development activities to enhance the quality and safety of care in the Cath Lab.

Candidate requirements

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
  • Recent nursing experience in critical care, cardiac care, or interventional cardiology.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are required.
  • Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to prioritize patient care in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice in cardiovascular nursing.
