Position Summary

The Medical Scribe will document the dictated patient history, physical examination, family, social, and past medical histories as well as document procedures, lab results, dictated radiographic impressions and any other information pertaining to the patient's encounter.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Accompany provider in room during patient visit. Scribe document in Greenway to include: history of present illness, review of systems, physical exam findings, diagnostic assessment and plan of care.
  • Enter billing information as determined by the type of office visit.
  • Enter orders for procedures or labs as directed by the provider.
  • Document results of laboratory and radiographic studies as discussed by provider.
  • Regularly interacts with physicians and other departments in order to identify and resolve problems.
  • Maintains patient, employee and organization confidentiality
  • Establishes and maintains quality service and positive interaction with all patients, customers, visitors, health care providers, and staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent
  • 2 years' experience as Scribe or a Medical Assistant with a combination of education in nursing/medical field and experience
  • Must be able to type at least 50 words per minute
  • Computer skills required such as: Microsoft Office.
