POSITION SUMMARY:
This position performs routine clerical and typing functions. Reports to Streets/Highways foreman.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
* Compile and type reports, statements, invoices, and correspondence within the division.
* Copy, collate and bind reports, statements, booklets.
* Maintain accurate files on correspondence, reports, statements, invoices, bills, etc.; collect and distribute data, as necessary.
* Answer telephone, handle complaints, provide information and route messages.
* Prepare statement, forms, invoices, and bills by researching and supplying necessary date for input.
* Perform routine math calculations for report usage, operate calculator or other office equipment, etc.
* Process mail through sorting and distribution to appropriate individuals.
* May schedule appointments and maintain up-to-date calendar as requested.
* May maintain inventory of office supplies, as necessary.
* May assist in payroll for division.
* Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Educational Requirements/Experience
* High school graduate or GED required.
Experience
* At least 6 months clerical experience required.
* The ability to type 35 words per minute with accuracy.
* Knowledge of office practices, equipment and filing systems; business letter and report writing techniques and proof reading.
* Knowledge of computers using Microsoft Office.
