Behavior Interventionist

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an Education related field.
- Certification in Special Education and/or General Education from the Texas State Board of Educator Certification
- Strong ability to work effectively under high-pressure situations involving students with behavior disorders.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with administrators, school staff, parents, students, and other personnel.
- Organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize as required to achieve the goals of the position.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provides support and training for teachers, staff, and parents to develop and implement behavior intervention techniques for students with behavioral challenges.
- Works with special education staff to develop and implement a student's Individual Education Program.
- When invited, attend ARD Meetings and staffings to consult with applicable members in order to help a student with behavioral challenges become successful in the general education.
- Collaborates with school personnel, students, parents, and the community to ensure intervention techniques are successful for students with special needs.
- Provides a "time out" setting for students with behavioral challenges in crisis.
- Works collaboratively with administration, teachers, and other personnel across campuses.
- Implements strategies to de-escalate students with behavioral concerns, such as the Crisis Prevention Intervention Program, and provides school personnel with information on these strategies to create a cohesive technique when working with these students.
