School Physchologist: EIECSE (Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education)
40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 189 day contract (pro-rated for remainder of 2023-24 school year)
Location: Tri-County EIECSE

Salary Range: As established by bargaining agreement, 2023-24 Licensed Salary Schedule (based on experience and education).

Definition The School Psychologist works under the general direction of the Director of Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education (EI/ECSE). The School Psychologist provides counseling services to staff and families focusing on children with learning, emotional and behavioral needs. The School Psychologist provides comprehensive psychological services including assessment, evaluation, interpreting test results, eligibility determination particularly in the development of Individual Family Service Plans/Individual Educational Programs (IFSP/IEP).

Qualifications This position requires an Oregon School Psychology License (Personnel Service License). Extensive knowledge of the characteristics of special needs populations, IDEA regulations, and IFSP/IEP development; experience with crisis intervention and conflict resolution; experience with preschool (Early Childhood) populations and low incidence handicaps (i.e., autism, traumatic brain injury) preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Must have the ability to reach, bend, stoop, crouch and lift. Must have access to reliable transportation, and consistent attendance is required. Applicants must have successful experience in working with culturally diverse families and communities, and/or have otherwise demonstrated a commitment to equity and strengthening engagement of a diverse community and skill in communicating with a diverse population.

Reports To Director of Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education (EI/ECSE)

Performance Responsibilities
Demonstrate knowledge of the current literature with special knowledge and understanding of the child with learning disabilities and/or behavior issues
Select and administer appropriate diagnostic procedures and assessment tools including intellectual, academic and behavioral measures
Plan systematic intervention programs and provide consultation for school personnel relative to carrying out IFSP/IEP plans; conduct functional assessments and develop behavior support plans
Assess children showing signs of disturbed or maladaptive emotional, social, or educational development
Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Assist school teams in planning a coordinated program for the individual child designed to involve, as much as reasonable, the child's teacher, his peers, and his family
Write appropriate evaluations and other psychological reports
Collect case data and submit regular reports on individuals, as well as on their program activities
Maintain current data file for all referred students
Develop personal annual goals and objectives and assume responsibility for seeing these goals as accomplished
May be required to bill for Medicaid reimbursement dependent upon licensure and specific services provided within the scope of the position
Communicate appropriately and regularly through use of email
Respect and maintain confidential information in all situations
Fulfill other related duties as assigned
Terms of Employment A one-year contract renewable annually by the Board of Directors, under the terms and conditions of the statutes and administrative rules of the State of Oregon, conditioned upon successful evaluations and the employee's maintenance of a current, valid license. Salary and benefits are established by policy and collective bargaining agreement.
