Lab Technician

Job Summary:

Perform testing of new and existing products while providing input and feedback toward design and effectiveness. Prepare samples and prototypes; assist with trials, monitoring, collecting data, screen and evaluate new materials.

Duties/Responsibilities:

* Operation of all lab equipment and procedures
* Provide product testing support to all Technical Service representatives and Product Development Engineers as needed
* Prepare product samples and prototypes for application analysis and presentations
* Assist in maintaining a well-organized laboratory
* Communicate effectively to Technical Service and other internal customers regarding duties performed and results obtained
* Make product recommendations, including materials, design and process type utilizing existing materials and processes.
* Analyze and evaluate customer applications including material screening, product testing and customer site visits
* Support existing customers with technical information and services including product training, application troubleshooting, samples and prototypes
* Participate in or lead interdepartmental teams as appropriate to develop business or improve systems
* Service internal customers as a key technical resource to the division
* Experience working with pressure sensitive materials, films, paper, coating and packaging

Education and Experience:

* High school diploma required
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
