Registered Respiratory Therapist

POSITION SUMMARY: Provides Respiratory Care treatments and services to patients.# As needed, supervises the work of other Therapists, technicians or students. Required to work occasional shifts at SAMC-Belvidere as needed.# Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives.# EDUCATION/TRAINING: Graduate of an AMA accredited educational program for Respiratory Care LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current Registration (RRT credential) from the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. License from the State of Illinois as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (within 90 days of passing test for new grads).# Current CPR certification. NRP certification (once trained in the Special Care Nursery). Per Diem employees will only be assigned to the Special Care Nursery if they currently work in a NICU at another facility otherwise they are not assigned to Special Care Nursery and not required to be NRP certified. PALS certification required within two years of hire date. EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: At least one year experience working as a Respiratory Care Practitioner preferred. Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.
