The Crump Institute is currently seeking a highly motivated Staff Research Associate I to join our research team. As a key member, you will work directly with the Principal Investigator (PI) to provide essential support for general lab activities. These activities include sample processing, performing assays, maintaining cells and corresponding cell assays, as well as recording and analyzing results. The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate an in-depth understanding of laboratory procedures and possess a strong commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workspace. Adherence to all lab regulations pertaining to health and safety is of utmost importance. We are looking for an ideal candidate with expertise in small animal handling and basic in vivo skills, such as tail vein injections (i.v.), intraperitoneal injections (i.p.), oral administrations (p.o.), and intratracheal injections (i.t.). Furthermore, the candidate will assume primary responsibility for the development of preclinical oncology models, including xenografts, orthotopic models, and patient-derived xenografts (PDX). Under the guidance of the PI and/or other senior team members, in this role, you will execute preclinical imaging studies utilizing PET/SPECT/CT/Optical imaging techniques.

Target hourly rate: $24.88-$29.67

Required:

* Previous experience with tissue culture and working knowledge of basic molecular biology/biochemistry principals;
* Ability to use basic laboratory equipment, including centrifuge, pH meter.
* Higher fidelity skills including HPLC or tissue dissociation is highly desirable;
* Demonstrated computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft office and ability to solve computer-related problems;
* Ability to communicate effectively to convey experimental results and maintain meticulous notes/record keeping;
* Ability to use and/or learn imaging software for data analysis;
* Ability to maintain laboratory readiness for future experiments; Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with faculty, staff, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students.
