Position Expectations
The Box Truck Drivers provide exceptional customer service to our commercial, store, and donation site customers through the timely pickup and delivery of quality donated goods and other materials utilizing commercial box trucks.
Responsibilities
* Provides internal and external customer service on behalf of Goodwill, drives safely and follows Federal/State traffic laws, Company safety policies, and positively represents Goodwill to the public at large.
* Cleans donations sites by the pickup of larger donated items on a designated sweep route or as assigned.
* Transports donated items to and from assigned Goodwill locations in a timely manner, including delivery of Special Projects priced goods and picking up/returning blue bins and Z-Racks.
* Services bin donation sites by swapping full bins with empty bins and picking up overflow and larger furniture items.
* Services commercial donors, home donors, and charity partners by picking up donations or swapping bins along assigned routes or assigned individually.
* Communicates with dispatcher, dock leads and supervisor, store management and handlers, and Goodwill Management.
* Loads and unloads trucks at assigned locations.
* Unloads, sweep and trash manually at Western Elite or Apex as required.
* Completes and turns in all related paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
* Assists within assigned Warehouse by loading/unloading product and moving product around the warehouse when not fulfilling Driver role, as designated by management.
* Operates and maintain company vehicles safely.
* Performs truck and trailer safety inspections at the beginning, during, and end of each shift.
* Keeps truck interior and exterior clean and neat.
* Inspects and secures loads prior to transport.
* Reports immediately any emergent maintenance or safety issues to dispatcher or supervisor on duty.
* Assists in any other projects or tasks as determined by management.
Education, Experience, and Requirements
* High school/ GED completion.
* Minimum of 2 years CDL Driver or Local Class A Driver experience preferred.
* Minimum of 2 years driving experience in the United States and 1 year in Las Vegas and Pahrump areas.
* Proven reliability and meeting attendance expectations.
* Must possess strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication skills.
* Bilingual a plus.
* Exhibits a high level of integrity and business ethics.
* Exhibits a high level of adaptability and flexibility.
Environmental Factors
* Duties will be conducted in and around a truck, clearance center, warehouse, or other assigned Goodwill locations where no cooling or heating will be available. Exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust and humidity may be a possibility.
Physical Factors
* Able to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
* Prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, lifting, pulling, bending, kneeling, driving within and around the Las Vegas and Pahrump areas.
