JOB TITLE: Middle School Student Support Interventionist

NATURE OF THE POSITION:

The primary purpose is to provide support to the principal and assistant principals in the monitoring of attendance and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). The focus of this position will be to increase the number of students successfully completing school by assisting in the creating, coordinating and assessing multiple levels of attendance intervention and Tier II and Tier III academic and social-emotional programs.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal or designee

UNIT CLASSIFICATION: Non-Represented

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Education and Experience
* Associate of Arts Degree preferred.
* Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Able to communicate effectively in verbal and written form
* Bilingual/Biliterate in English/Spanish preferred
* Demonstrated abilities in communication and effective human relations skills Successful experience and demonstrated interest in working with youth and community
* Licenses/Special Requirements
* Must possess a valid Washington driver's license and the ability to maintain qualification for Insurance coverage.
* Social Security Card.
* WSP/FBI fingerprint/background clearance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Assist with student behavior related issues, problems, and concerns.
* Monitoring and supporting Tier II and Tier III ongoing
* Make contact (phone, home visits, etc.) with parents and students who are currently receiving Tier II/III.
* Meet with students to support behavior interventions.
* Participate in RMTs to help identify supports and interventions.
* Participate and involved in building PBIS team.
* Maintain necessary records and data, prepare and process written materials and documents for the purpose of disseminating information regarding students' behavior (i.e., SWIS data entry, attendance data)
* Assist with the development, implementation and coordination of school-wide intervention programs.
* Assist with general supervision of students.
* Assist in providing appropriate professional development to assist staff in behavior procedure
* Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

* Supervise students on campus and at activities.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Subject to setting or standing for long periods of time. Driving to other District locations and/or students' homes. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to setting for prolonged periods. LIMITS OF AUTHORITY: Reports to Building Administration or designee

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

LENGTH: 190 contract days which include ten (10) paid holidays.

SCHEDULE: 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent

SALARY AND BENEFITS: 7 hours a day, benefits as per state law and board policy

EVALUATION: Evaluated at least annually on or before May 30th of each year
