We are looking for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) dedicated to providing top-quality care to our young residents aged 13-18 and non-minor dependents. They will provide:
· Compassionate care.
· Focus on education and guidance.
· Nurturing to help ensure the physical and emotional well-being of our clients.
Duties:
· Conducting individualized medical assessments, prioritizing the data collection based on the resident’s immediate condition or needs within the timeframe specified by the facility’s policies, procedures, or protocols.
· Maintain compliance with MHPA standards (45 days with meds, 90 days without meds) or medication reviews.
· Provides treatment recommendations to doctors, psychiatrists and the facility. Nurses may be asked to participate in monthly CFTMs when medical, dental or psychiatric needs to be addressed in a formalized setting.
· Provides education to both the mental health and residential staff as needed/scheduled.
· Maintain confidentiality and ensure that HIPAA regulations are followed.
· Provide non-judgmental, non-discriminatory care that preserves their autonomy, dignity, and rights.
· Coordinating linkage to medication support services with the mental health treatment team.
· Scheduling and attending mandated medical, dental and psychiatric appointments with clients to assist with expressing needs.
· Completing Medication Administrator Records for the clients in the home monthly or as medications is changed.
· Order medication as needed.
· Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
· Complete the requirements for training.
· Complete documentation as outlined in the policies and procedures.
Qualifications
· Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
· Current licensure must be in good standing in the state of practice and all other states where the License is held. License must be unrestricted.
· Comfortable working with male youths ages 7-17 who are wards of the court and display assaultive and suicidal behaviors.
· Evidence of BLS, AED, First Aid, and CPR Certification.
· Must pass DOJ, FBI, and Child Abuse Clearance for California and all states occupied within the last five years.
Experience:
· Experience working with adolescents from the age of 7-17 years old. (Preferred)
· Familiar with childhood ailments including but not limited to childhood diabetes and obesity. (Preferred)
Schedule: Monday-Friday 20 hours a week (4 hours per day). Days and time to be determined by the employee and supervisor.
