Sigma Healthcare team is currently looking for a Radiologic Tech to work onsite at contracted facilities in Wrangell.

Shift :To be discussed with manager

Responsibilities:
  • Performs diagnostic CT exams of human anatomy. Places IVs for contrast injections. Follows protocols set by the radiologist. Performs daily QA/QC on CT equipment. Receives patient, explains procedure, and creates a safe environment for the patient through good communication skills. Accurately inputs pertinent medical information into EHR, RIS/PACS, and other systems as necessary. Is very familiar with power injectors and appropriate use. Understands various types of contrast media and their use.
  • Performs diagnostic x-ray examinations of human anatomy. Follows standard positions and protocols, and views prescribed by SEARHC radiologists. Receives patients, explains procedures and utilizes standardized techniques, settings, and positions to accomplish acceptable results.
  • Office Duties. Performs office jobs including, but not limited to: answering phones, scheduling patients' exams, printing reports, retrieving charts, researching problems, ordering supplies and helping radiologists and providers.
  • Responsible for QA and QC for SEARHC imaging modalities. Documents: CTDI and DLP, amount of contrast administered, exam performed and other information as required by the Joint Commission standards.

Education :
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiography School
Experience:
  • 2 years' experience Radiography
  • 1 year experience CT
  • Toshiba/Canon CT experience
  • Cerner experience preferred
  • Fuji PACS experience preferred
License/Certifications:
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certified
  • CT certification required
  • Must complete annual educational requirements for licenses/certifications in areas where you function, i.e, CT dose, MRI safety.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge
  • Extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology used in standard radiographic, and CT.
  • Extensive knowledge of radiation physics and protection (ALARA).
  • Extensive understanding and knowledge of CT (computed tomography).
  • Considerable knowledge of digitized imaging and multiple computer systems.
Skills:
  • Skilled at independently performing radiographic, CT and fluoroscopic exams.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication.
  • Skilled in organizing and cleaning work areas and maintaining equipment in serviceable condition.
Abilities:
  • Able to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with radiologists, providers, patients, computer technologists, and SEARHC staff.
  • Able to perform multiple tasks in a small department.
  • Able to learn new imaging exams as required by radiologists or providers.
