GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Canes Midstream is a private equity backed midstream oil and gas company with assets in the prolific Permian Basin. Canes Midstream operates the largest private greenfield gathering and processing system in the Southern Midland Basin. The Company is experiencing significant growth and seeking a Plant Accountant. The Plant Accountant is generally responsible for the full cycle plant settlement process, including working with producers, customers, and internal parties to provide the monthly invoicing, and journal entries associated with plant settlement. The Plant Accountant must continually strive to maintain the highest standards for excellence, leadership, and professionalism, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of Canes Midstream.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Assist with settlement through gas plant allocation system (Waterfield)
  2. Generate monthly statements, including imbalance/cashouts, producer settlements, margin tie outs, and downstream sales invoicing for review
  3. Prepare monthly accruals and journal entry uploads to be approved through OGSYS
  4. Help to reconcile accounts on a monthly basis
  5. Track Producer and Customer AR/AP
  6. Handle the daily crude volume and allocations; along with final settlements
  7. Analyze volumetric and financial results/trends and explain variances
  8. Work with Director of Plant Accounting for periodic contract audits and implementation
  9. Communicate with operations, business development and external parties that are critical to perform job responsibilities
  10. Meet all critical closing deadlines
  11. Perform any other related duties as requested or assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Plant and gas balancing knowledge required
  • Strong knowledge of accounting transactions related to gas processing plants
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with other departments
  • Excellent communication, technology, and analytical skills
  • Team player who works well with others both within and outside the organization

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Accounting undergraduate degree required
  • Waterfield system experience a plus
  • OGSYS system experience a plus
  • Proficient in Excel, including pivot table usage
