Position Summary The Precision Medicine Navigator serves as a liaison between the pathologists and the clinical care team to promote seamless transition from the patient#s diagnosis to appropriate treatment. Participates in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of laboratory services provided by the precision medicine program. They work as part of the Precision Medicine Initiative to send out, track, report, and enter data for molecular testing. Navigators coordinate pathology consults and clinical trial send outs as well as prepping for multidisciplinary planning conferences. #While these standards are intended to be an accurate reflection of the job requirements, management reserves the right to modify add/or remove duties and to assign other duties as necessary. * Compliance: understands and complies with the Code of Conduct and department policies, procedures and regulations.############## Minimum Requirements Education########### Associate degree Experience######## Strong organization skills and detail orientation Excellent oral, written and customer service skills. Ability to work closely with a diverse group of individuals, from patients to physicians, and industry representatives. Anatomic Pathology Experience Previous work in a clinical laboratory setting At least 2 years post-degree experience of working with molecular testing including demonstrated knowledge of emerging molecular technologies, hematology, and histology. # Preferred License/Registration/Certifications### N/A # Core Job Responsibilities Be responsible for working in collaboration with the precision medicine program leaders and staff daily to assist with coordinating operations.# Operations include, but are not limited to, triage of specimens and molecular testing requests, communication with clinical care team, and gathering history, reports, and notes for specimen send out and multidisciplinary conferences. Sending specimens to the appropriate reference lab for molecular testing, tracking and reporting of results, and entering molecular data for quality and research. Manage processes to allow for appropriate billing practices. Navigate messages and calls between pathology and clinical care team. Must be able to communicate clearly with the clinical laboratory, physicians, navigators, and molecular testing vendors, to ensure appropriate test ordering and accurate resulting to deliver timely patient care.# Works closely with pathology and histology to ensure best utilization of tissue and to ensure tissue is prepared appropriately for requested test. Attend Multidisciplinary conferences as assigned to be a resource for molecular testing and liaison between pathology and clinical care team. Ability to maintain positive working relationships with management, team leaders, physicians and clients. To complete at least 6 hours of continuing education each year.
