* bilingual in English/SpanishWhat is the work?Management - Supervision:-Supervises / coordinates work schedules for all Custodial Partners engaged in cleaning / maintaining corporate office buildings and other buildings and the surrounding areas; provides guidance for a smoothly functioning work environment-Coordinates, plans, and supervises custodial operations in general, including special events; communicates with staff, other Partners, vendors, and administrators-Receives, investigates, responds to, and / or resolves complaints related to custodial services-Performs field checks of assigned buildings to ensure completion of work assignments-Evaluates subordinate Partner performance and provides reviews, counseling, documenting, initiating, and participating in the disciplinary process if needed-Maintains Partner work schedules so staffing levels meet day-to-day operational needs-Oversees / ensures administration and performance of outsourced (vendor) cleaning activities at all locations-Identifies / responds to potential problem areas within H-E-B facilities that enable reductions in costs and hazards -Investigates and provides information about life-cycle cost, productivity attributes, and quality of assets to Supervisor-Assists in developing facility custodial maintenance plan-Supports Facility Management's strategic goals by making daily tactical decisions that impact financial and safety conditions of the buildings and their environment-Supports efforts to control custodial costs as reported on the department's administrative cost budgets and fixed company assets-Submits, obtains approval, ensures cost control within budgeted levels for Facilities Custodial Department administrative expenses-Coordinates inventory management of janitorial supplies / equipment, including requisitioning, distribution, and storage-Serves as the 'eyes' of the daytime maintenance Partners; reports deficiencies in building systems and conditions-Makes minor repairs; assists Facility Maintenance Technicians with overnight situations / repairs-Responds (in person / by phone) to Facility Maintenance Technician requests related to urgent maintenance situations-Researches / keeps informed on new cleaning techniques, new equipment, and cleaning chemicals to improve quality and performance of cleaning activitiesTraining:-Provides training, leadership, and organization to ensure well-managed building / site cleanliness and environment-Provides technical assistance and professional leadership to junior-level custodians -Trains team Partners (and vendors, if necessary) on assigned tasksSafety / Compliance:-Ensures food quality-related cleaning is performed according to H-E-B and regulatory requirements-Develops, updates, and evaluates work and / or safety standards, policies, and proceduresWhat is your background?-High school diploma or equivalent-5+ years of experience in custodial work, and -2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity-Experience / expertise in maintaining and cleaning carpet, tile, linoleum floor, restrooms, building grounds, and structural items (e.g., windows, doors, furniture, shelving, etc.), and sanitation and food-grade cleaning
