Key Responsibilities and Skills:

  • Provide care to residents in the skilled nursing facility under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, and movement.
  • Deliver bedside care, help with treatments, and encourage rehabilitation through prescribed exercise programs.
  • Monitor residents for changes in their condition and report findings to nursing staff.
  • Participate in developing residents' care plans and maintain compliance with protocols and standards.
  • Operate and maintain hospital and nursing equipment efficiently.
  • Take on assignments in other nursing departments as needed.
  • Understanding of basic medical terminology and bedside care practices.
  • Ability to take and accurately record vital signs, weights, and other essential measures.
  • Proficiency in patient documentation and record-keeping.
  • Ability to interpret and follow written, oral, and graphic instructions.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with residents, visitors, and staff.
  • Knowledge of infection control and aseptic procedures.
  • Familiarity with med-surg and skilled nursing facility equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to provide compassionate care, maintain confidentiality, and respect resident rights.
  • Physical capability to use proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
  • Ability to effectively manage work relationships and meet residents' physical and emotional needs.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a nursing assistant course.
  • Current California Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • Valid Basic Life Support/Healthcare Provider certification.
