- Provide care to residents in the skilled nursing facility under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, and movement.
- Deliver bedside care, help with treatments, and encourage rehabilitation through prescribed exercise programs.
- Monitor residents for changes in their condition and report findings to nursing staff.
- Participate in developing residents' care plans and maintain compliance with protocols and standards.
- Operate and maintain hospital and nursing equipment efficiently.
- Take on assignments in other nursing departments as needed.
- Understanding of basic medical terminology and bedside care practices.
- Ability to take and accurately record vital signs, weights, and other essential measures.
- Proficiency in patient documentation and record-keeping.
- Ability to interpret and follow written, oral, and graphic instructions.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with residents, visitors, and staff.
- Knowledge of infection control and aseptic procedures.
- Familiarity with med-surg and skilled nursing facility equipment and supplies.
- Ability to provide compassionate care, maintain confidentiality, and respect resident rights.
- Physical capability to use proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
- Ability to effectively manage work relationships and meet residents' physical and emotional needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a nursing assistant course.
- Current California Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Valid Basic Life Support/Healthcare Provider certification.
