REPORTS TO: Director of Exceptional Children's Director

JOB GOAL

To assist teachers and administrators by providing consulting and coaching services related to management and discipline strategies for Hertford County Public Schools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Follow all rules, policies, and procedures of Hertford County Public Schools, along with state and federal regulations about school issues.
* Assist in the development of behavioral plans, assessments, and analysis of data that will promote positive classroom experiences for all students.
* Conduct behavioral assessments, design behavioral programs, and monitor behavioral plans in the schools.
* Work with school teams to establish cooperative and harmonious relations in student-to-student and student-to-teacher relationships, through communicating the outcome expected for all students.
* Analyze and report behavioral data for the school system.
* Provide direct services to teachers through observations and coaching sessions for the development of adaptive skills and replacement of undesirable student behaviors.
* Assist teachers in identifying trends of behavior that negatively impact classroom instruction.
* Assist teachers in completing self-assessments related to classroom management effectiveness.
* Provide consultation to school personnel on identification and intervention strategies for students identified as having behavioral problems.
* Maintain records and provide reports of services rendered.
* Strives to maintain and improve professional competence. Participates in the development and support of the broad department vision.
* Performs related duties and responsibilities as required by the Director of Student Support Services.
