Description
Terradyne Engineering is looking for a Construction Materials Testing Lab Technician for our Pflugerville, TX office.
Requirements:
- Enjoys repetitive work
- Can follow instructions exactly
- Dependable
- Industry certifications: ACI Strength, ACI Aggregate, SB101, or SB102 preferred
- Standard hours of 7am to 4pm with overtime and Saturday hours as needed
The CMT Lab Technician performs the following tests:
• Proctors (Standard and Modified)
• Atterberg Limits
• -200 Wash
• Sulfate testing
• Soil-Lime Series
• Sieve Analysis
• Concrete Flexural Strength
• Concrete Compressive Strength

Skills needed:
- Ability to work as a team, multitasking, and organizational skills a must
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical procedures
- Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers and management
- Understand importance of QC in the laboratory
- Computer skills - Word, Excel
- Good math aptitude

This lab is not the sterile, white-coat laboratory of the movies. This lab is not a medical lab. We are not looking for someone with a chemical, biology, or other science degree. This job is very different. You will be working with soil, concrete, and other construction materials.

Requirements
Responsibilities consist of:
- Communicating test status and results to Lab Supervisor and/or Department Manager
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Adhering to deadlines
- Ability to be flexible during peak times
- Promoting a safe work environment and maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Assisting with AASHTO proficiency testing as required
- General lab duties including keeping the lab and equipment clean and organized
- Great attention to detail is required
- Hours are 7am to 4pm with overtime and Saturday hours as needed
