SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Shipping/Receiving Team Lead provides excellent service to our customers by ensuring the Shipping/Receiving team is accurately shipping required products on time and supports production activities through proper inspection and receiving activities.

JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Along with the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor and Warehouse Manager, leads implementation & execution of warehouse processes and procedures.
* Coordinates daily workflow in order to ship and receive products on time.
* Monitors the pace and flow of product from receiving through shipping.
* Ensures warehouse productivity requirements to meet customer schedules and maximize operational efficiency.
* Reports any issues to Supervisor in a timely fashion.
* Coaches and leads the warehouse team to first and foremost work safely, increase productivity, and reduce waste.
* Maintains housekeeping and supports 5S initiatives for the warehouse and surrounding area.
* Assists with coordinating daily workload and redistributing duties as needed.
* Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped and on methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock.
* Tracks history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
* Responsible for shipping, receiving, firming work orders, and reconciliation of outsource processes.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):

* 3 - 5 years of experience in a warehouse/logistics environment
* Excellent communications skills including problem solving and team motivation.
* Forklift experience.
* Organizational and time management skills.
* Ability to work efficiently as a team player in a diverse work group
* Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):

* Plex ERP knowledge a plus
* Strong PC literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with integrated databases.
* Experience in Visual Flow/Kanban environment and cellular manufacturing, JIT, and MRP systems.
* Understanding of and practical experience in Lean Manufacturing
