Reports To: District Athletic Director/Sports Park Manager

Position Purpose: To keep the district's facilities & grounds maintained and operational so they present no problems or interruptions to the education program.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Experience & training in skill areas of grounds maintenance, mowing, snow removal, repairing, painting and fencing/netting-sports park maintenance .
* Ability to work from verbal and written instructions and ability to design or modify components to meet job requirements.
* Knowledge of standard practices, tools and terminology while caring for grounds, trees, schrubs, flowers, etc.
* Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, hazardous materials, and proper ways necessary to perform assigned tasks.
* Ability to maintain, drive and operate medium truck, mowers, lawn,farm and turf equipment.
* Must have or obtain a valid Kansas dirver's license and posess a good driving record.
* Ability to follow instructions, get along with others and work effectively without constant supervision.
* Must be in good physical condition and able to lift 100 pounds.
* Ability to perform work independently & dependably according to prescribed standards & technical procedures.
* Ability to work in varied weather & temperature conditions & to work from heights.

Physical/Emotional Requirements: (The incumbent may be required to use the below requirements during any part of the working day.)

This position is classified as heavy work (level 4), which entails the following: exerting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally, or 25 to 50 pounds frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds constantly.

Performance Responsibilities:

* Performs maintenance work with varied levels of skill in order to effectively maintain the Sport's Park buildings, grounds, and equipment in a timely manner.
* Will be assigned to district high school for 8 weeks over winter months.
* Must be able to work occasional evening & weekend events held at the Sports Park as required.
* Performs related duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment:

12 months; salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.

Evaluation:

Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board policy on evaluation of Classified Personnel
