Estimator - Commercial HVAC Service

Position Summary:

Located in either Fort Myers or the Largo, FL office, the Service Estimator must be able to completely and accurately prepare estimates for all types of Service and Replacement HVAC projects.
The Service Applications Estimator must be able to completely and accurately prepare estimates for all types of Service and Replacement HVAC projects. They must understand and implement the process to provide timely and accurate estimates, while building relationships with Sales Representatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Responsible for developing accurate and competitive estimates to potential and current clients.
* Work with the Department Managers to provide accurate and competitive estimates.
* Perform complete and accurate Estimates to maximize profit while ensuring customer satisfaction
* Coordinate with sub-contractors to provide estimates needed for proposed work.
* Seek out and develop new vendors when needed.
* Perform site visits as required.
* Ensure estimate due dates and promises are kept.
* Participate in final estimate review when required.
* Keep manager informed of progress and estimate status. Calls for assistance from manager to keep the process on track.
* Attend project kick off meetings as required.
* Provide technical assistance via phone or in person as required to all service technicians and apprentices in regards to materials, special parts, equipment and supplies required on jobs.
* Coordinates ordering of all parts, materials and equipment with Service Purchasing Agent.
* Coordinates with all required sub-contractors.
* Provide project information and labor requirements to operations.
* Estimate service repairs, replacements and small projects as requested.
* Assists with Maintenance contract estimates as requested.
* Assist Service Sales Staff with all estimates and proposals as requested.
* Assist the coordinators with the implementation of jobs as needed.
* Daily, keep the service coordinators informed of the job status and manpower requirements.
* Perform research assignments as needed.
* Attend scheduled meetings.
* Report any issues or conflicts to the Director of Service Operations for resolution.
* Constantly improve upon existing policies and procedures to make Service more proficient and profitable.
* Promote and maintain a professional working atmosphere.
* Provide associates with a "role model" by setting an example of the company's business and work ethic.
* Other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications/Competencies:

* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* One year certificate from college/technical school; and /or five years related experience/training in Commercial HVAC industry and/or related Service Industry business experience.
* Team player who works and communicates well with people at all levels.
* Expert level of verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations with tact, diplomacy, influence and sensitivity. Demonstrate phone and e-mail etiquette.
* Ability to multi-task.
* Ability to use significant independent judgment.
* Ability to direct and motivate others.
* Ability to enter data with accuracy and speed.
* Working knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Salesforce experience a plus
