Job Description
The Staff Pad has partnered with a community health center outside of Tucson, Arizona. We are seeking a Medical Billing Representative III to join our client's organization that has been recognized as a "National Quality Leader" by the US Department of Health and Human Services. As a Medical Billing Representative, you will be responsible for providing staff support to the Senior Director Business Office in maintaining and operations the firm's business systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Following the patient visit, review provider's documentation and coding to ensure that all appropriate codes have been recorded and that all recorded codes are supported with documentation. Add or delete codes as appropriate.
  • Provides education to medical providers, other clinical staff and business office personnel on coding concepts and current documentation rules
  • Assist in the processing of all insurance claims via electronic/hardcopy in a timely manner.
  • Prints daily reports, verifying charge/payment entry, balancing at day end. Post batch on a daily basis, logging, as appropriate.
  • Prioritize work received and complete in a timely manner.
  • Initiates and answers telephone,screens calls, takes messages and provides information as needed.
  • Assist Patient Accounts Specialist when necessary.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality in regard to patients account.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Certified Professional Coder diploma from an accredited program
  • Bilingual- English/Spanish
  • Knowledge of medical billing practices and clinic policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding.
  • Knowledge of insurance company operating procedures.
