Assistant Supervisor, Entertainment (Costumes)
What you get to do:
* Directs daily operations.
* Coach, mentor, and directs staff.
* Assist in the interview process.
* Leads orientation process of new ambassadors.
* Leads training and development of new ambassadors.
* Responsible for staff scheduling.
* Assist with evaluations and the development of ambassadors.
* Reviews annual performance appraisal with ambassador and supervisor.
* Participates in creative sessions with show and events productions.
* Works with producers and performance operations to maintain show standards.
* Responsible for maintaining assigned area labor and expense budgets.
* Produces and maintains accurate documentation.
* Maintains a safe work environment and safety requirements.
* Maintains cleanliness of all assigned work areas.
* Maintains, upholds and respects all ambassador confidentiality and leadership issues.
* Ensures excellence in customer service by responding to customer requirements, expectations and needs.
* Maintains a positive and flexible attitude.
* Occasionally may assist other locations and areas throughout the park as needed.
* Models company trainings related to guest interactions and animal areas.
* Other duties as assigned.
What is takes to succeed:
* At least 18 years of age.
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Minimum of one year of professional or college-level experience in costume related fields preferred.
* At least six months previous experience in a leadership role and one year theme park related experience preferred.
* A valid California driver's license; visiting students and military must have valid driver's license from state of residency and able to provide a copy of the DMV report.
* Able to positively interact with guests and co-workers of all ages, different ethnic/cultural backgrounds and/or language, and individuals with special needs.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to read, write and speak English.
* Strong presentation skills including the ability to speak clearly and comfortable in front of large groups and in different environments; including, but not limited to, training classes.
* Working knowledge of computer-based resources such as Microsoft Office and other park related programs (i.e., SAP, Concur, Kronos, etc.).
* Able to complete assigned projects in a timely and professional manner.
* Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
* Able to maintain a positive and flexible attitude in an ever-changing work environment.
* Proficient organization and planning skills.
* Stand, walk and/or sit for prolonged periods of time.
* Able to meet required availability.
* Able to lift or move up to 30lbs.
* Possess basic research and development of product skills.
* Proficient knowledge in one or more areas of costume craft such as construction of costumes, dresser for theater shows, cutting skills and pattern building preferred.
* Mechanically inclined with skills in hand tools preferred.
* Experience with multitude of fabrics such as furs, netting and four way stretch preferred
Compensation: 20.00 USD Hourly
