POSITION SUMMARY

The Director - Servicing Oversight is responsible for managing the performance of approved Sub-Servicers. They will perform end-to-end surveillance on sub-servicing activities. This individual will perform exception reviews and testing related to sub-servicing including but not limited to servicing advances, collections, loss mitigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) disaster, property preservation, Claims, and call center activity. They will monitor, oversee, and drive solutions to mitigate losses. They will provide Quality Assurance results monthly to the sub-servicers and the subservicing oversight teams to ensure quality assurance, performance, and accountability.

The Director - Servicer Oversight will play a key role in ensuring the client's portfolio is serviced appropriately. This role is crucial in supporting the management and value enhancement of a client's portfolio, requiring regular collaboration with clients, engagement with servicers, and reporting on portfolio performance. Additionally, the position is accountable for achieving the objectives set by clients. Developing portfolio campaign strategies, providing customized reporting, and managing projects are essential expectations for this leadership role. The overall quality and performance of the Oversight Team also fall under the purview of this position.

DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Memorialize processes and procedures for tasks overseen by the Servicer Oversight Team.
  • Manage established Service Level Agreements with subservicing vendor and provide clear communications on positive and negative events related to service levels.
  • Maintain and lead meeting cadence and agendas with servicer.
  • Review monthly management reports provided by the sub-servicer to isolate trends, issues, anomalies, etc.
  • Sustain a framework for ongoing monitoring to continuously assess sub-servicer performance data and servicing practices; interpret results and make recommendations for improvement within assigned functional areas.
  • Proactively identify operational risks and control gaps.
  • Deliver monthly business results to relevant stakeholders.
  • Create and perform tests and audits on all aspects of mortgage servicing according to industry standards and regulations.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in business or finance.
  • 8+ years of Mortgage Servicing experience, including asset management, vendor management, process improvement, loss mitigation, and default processes.
  • Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Role requires an understanding of systems and their application to advance the efficiency of operation.

  • Experience in and understanding of agency guidelines as they pertain to: Loss Mitigation, Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, Property Preservation, Real Estate Owned (REO) and Claims, Transfer Management, Loan Boarding, Advance Reconciliation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically, excel, power BI and word.
  • Black Knight/LoanSphere/Lender Processing Services (LPS) Desktop experience a plus (i.e., Mortgage Servicing Platform (MSP), WebDirect, Servicing Director etc.).
  • Structured Query Language (SQL) experience a plus.
  • Strong leadership with proven ability to foster an environment of positive employee engagement and trust.
  • Ability to effectively manage and lead change; high learning agility with the ability to connect multiple variables to identify opportunities and solutions.
  • Effective management skills include talent selection, training, coaching, and performance management.
