Senior Licensed Master Social Worker - Adult Detention

University Health System has provided medical services to inmates at the Bexar County Detention Center since 1995, and has been continuously accredited by NCCHC. NCCHC is dedicated to improving the quality of correctional health services and helping correctional facilities provide effective and efficient care. We are currently looking for a Senior LMSW to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company with a reputation for exceptional service and patient care.

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Counsels and assists patients with personal and environmental difficulties in a correctional facility. Acts as a therapeutic agent as a member of multi-disciplinary health and mental health teams. Actively supports the policies and procedures of the University Health System.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Master's degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education is required. Five years post-masters experience in a health care setting is required, with six to seven years preferred.

LICENSURE

Current LMSW license from the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners is required.
