Pain Psychologist Opportunity - Henry Ford Health Jackson MI - Pain Management Practice

Henry Ford Health -Jackson partnered with Henry Ford Health Systems (HFHS -Detroit Area) in April 2016. Henry Ford Health - Jackson, Michigan, entered our 100th year May 2018. This partnership is very exciting for Henry Ford Health - Jackson and our community. The partnership with Henry Ford Health System has allowed us to construct an innovation center (adding State of Art Simulation & Research Labs / May 2017), a Surgical Patient Tower that added 66 private rooms Fall 2018, we implemented EPIC house wide (INPT & OUTPT) in 2016.

We have a robust and reputable Pain Management practice, with more than 12,000 patient encounters occurring in 2021. The practice primarily serves an adult population (< 5% of the patient base being adolescents aged 14 and older).

We are looking for a full-time, employed Pain Psychologist, to serve as part of our multidisciplinary pain assessment and treatment team. The Pain Psychologist will administer standardized and non-standardized testing of cognitive and psychological functioning and will also carry out other assessment activities pertinent to determination of the patient's ability to benefit from pain management interventions. In addition, the individual serving in this role will carry out therapeutic interventions aiding in the regulation of the patient's pain experience, as well as participate in treatment planning and ongoing assessments. The Pain Psychologist will apply principles related to psychophysiology, promote patient pain management skills development, and apply ethical and professional behavior in the use of biofeedback procedures. The individual selected for this role will apply skills in clinical interviewing, behavioral observation, personality assessments, psychophysiological measures, evidence-based psychotherapy, and health promotion. Further, the Pain Psychologist will work in consultation with pain management and associated health care provider team members, participate in multidisciplinary clinical teams, and actively support ongoing program refinement and development.

Certifications:

PhD in clinical psychology and 3 - 5 years' experience with patients impacted by chronic pain required. Post-Doctoral pain fellowship is highly desirable. Clinical health psychology and/or biofeedback and applied psychophysiology certification preferred.
