* Perform 3D thermal/CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis simulations on system, subsystem and component level high voltage battery packs using commercial CAE/CFD software.
* Perform 3D thermal/CFD simulations for battery malfunctions such as thermal runaway, thermal propagation and associated cell vent gas management. Propose and analyze countermeasures and design improvements.
* Post process and report thermal simulation results to product development teams to guide battery design in support of product development milestones.
* Develop and coordinate activities for verification and correlation of virtual/CFD models to physical test data, including test specification, instrumentation and data processing.
* Process battery malfunction test and CAE output data to generate input conditions for vehicle-level simulations. Coordinate associated vehicle-level thermal modeling and collaborate with broader engineering teams for vehicle-level thermal analyses.
