Schedule: 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.

Purpose:

Under the supervision of physicians and in the presence of a Polysomnographic Technologist, the Polysomnographic Technician is responsible for performing patient care duties and providing customer service to clients of the sleep center.

Responsibilities:

* Serves, manages and supports internal and external customers.
* Cleaning and sterilization are performed according to infection control guidelines.
* Inventory of lab supplies is taken and level for optimum functioning of lab is maintained.
* Educates patients on sleep lab procedures.
* Prepares patients for diagnostic testing as directed and according to departmental procedures.
* Accurately scores and analyzes sleep studies.
* Participates in sleep disorders center professional activities and continuing education.
* Performs therapeutic treatments and interventions, working with a Polysomnographic Technologist at all times.
* Communicates appropriately using good interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

* HS Diploma Required
* Bachelor's Degree or 6 months relevant experience in a related field (such as Sleep, EEG, Respiratory Therapy, or similar) preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

* Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation OR Basic Life Support.
* CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
* Licensed to practice as a Polysomnographic Technologist from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT), the American Board of Sleep Medicine (RST) or the National Board of Respiratory Care (CRT-SDS or RRT-SDS) within 6 months of meeting the eligibility requirements, and within 2 years from date of hire required.
* Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
* Act 33
* Act 34
* Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
