Job Summary:

The Shift supervisor, oversees and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating machines that process (screen, sort, separate, and bale) recyclable materials.

Major Job Responsibilities:

* Observes sorting, equipment operation, processing and packaging operations for conformance to company's specifications
* Review production schedules and confer with supervisor staff to plan shift operation
* Assign duties to workers according to production schedules and demonstrate safe and efficient use of equipment
* Inspect machinery and equipment to verify conformance to production standards; prepare time, attendance and production reports
* Run, schedule and ensure all metrics are being met on a daily basis
* Delegate and monitor workers in completion of tasks and schedules
* Lead process and/or quality teams on improving work flow and quality
* Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
* Physical ability to perform heavy labor
* Mechanical aptitude
* Strong safety values

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
