HVAC Technician

Qualifications:

* Completion of an accredited
* Five (5) years' experience in commercial, industrial or institutional maintenance field
* Possess essential knowledge, skills and abilities to explain, demonstrate, and perform, with or without reasonable accommodations, the duties and responsibilities of the position
* Stand or walk for long periods of time
* HVAC/R Certification
* Three years of general maintenance experience
* Three years of experience in one or more of the building trades
* Valid Refrigerant License
* Valid State Driver's License
* 18 years or older
* Legally authorized to work in the United States
* At least high school diploma or equivalent or higher
* Able to comfortably lift 50 lbs

Basic Qualifications and Responsibilities:

* Possess a basic knowledge of: (preferred but not required)
* Indiana Maintenance codes
* Knowledge of doors, locks, closures and security access controls helpful
* Snow removal as needed
* Perform a variety of work in HVAC and the general maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, and equipment to provide a safe and functional environment
* Perform routine maintenance on HVAC units, troubleshoot, install, repair and replace when needed
* Performs repairs and maintain structures such as floors, showers, sinks, walls, roofs, and carpets
* Troubleshoots, adjusts, and repairs locks on doors, cabinets, desks, and closets; door hinges and key slots
* Changes filters on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning units
* Services appliances, kitchen, and emergency equipment; installs appliances; reports mechanical malfunctions and determines appropriate action
* Identifies and performs basic repairs of plumbing leaks or breaks; opens clogged lines and drains; replaces washers and other minor parts; maintains and monitors septic system; applies and prepares various surfaces for paint, enamel, lacquer, varnish, or stain; repairs wall coverings
* Conducts HVAC rounds to inspect operation of systems, including weekends as necessary
* Shares scheduled on call duties
* Performs other duties as assigned
* Performing general maintenance and using basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, glass replacement, painting, masonry, appliance repair, and electrical wiring
* Operating and maintaining tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities
* Maintaining work and maintenance logs
