Now Hiring: Director of Nursing (DON)

 

We are a well-established nursing home facility committed to providing exceptional care and support to our residents in Pennsylvania. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department and ensure the delivery of high-quality care.

 

Position Overview:

The Director of Nursing (DON) will be responsible for overseeing the nursing department and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards of nursing practice. This position requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and a commitment to excellence in resident care.

 

Responsibilities:

- Provide leadership and direction to the nursing department, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants.

- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the delivery of safe and effective nursing care.

- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement resident care plans and ensure continuity of care.

- Monitor and evaluate the quality of nursing care provided, identifying areas for improvement and implementing quality improvement initiatives.

- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including state and federal regulations, as well as accreditation standards.

- Manage staffing levels, including recruitment, hiring, training, and performance evaluation of nursing staff.

- Serve as a liaison between the nursing department, administration, residents, and families to address concerns and ensure effective communication.

- Participate in budget planning and management for the nursing department, including monitoring expenses and maximizing resources.

 

Qualifications:

- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania.

- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nursing leadership, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.

- Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in geriatric nursing care.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards of nursing practice.

- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
