* Requires a two year allied health degree.
* Must be licensed in the state of Florida.
* Successful completion of an approved one-year program in Ultrasound Technology.
* Must have registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
* AHA/ARC Basic Life Support certification is required.
* Two years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist is also required.
What Does a Sonographer Do?: As a Sonographer with Lower Keys Medical Center, you will be responsible for…
* Performing diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate, and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data.
* Scheduling and coordinating tests, recording test results, and preparing and maintaining operational logs.
* Calibrates and maintains equipment and orders supplies when needed.
* Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within this field.
* You will rely on your experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, while performing a variety of tasks.
* A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
* Typically this position reports to a chief technologist or Director.
* You will be working under general supervision.
