Corporate Safety Manager

Freese and Nichols is seeking a Corporate Safety Manager in San Antonio. As Corporate Safety Manager, you will lead our corporate health and safety program. You will craft strategy, spearhead safety initiatives, and serve as a resource for our technical groups.

Responsibilities include:

* Develop and implement the strategy and plans for continuous improvement of the corporate safety and health program.
* Provide the programs, procedures, policies, and training to address hazards, risks, client expectations, and regulatory requirements applicable to Freese and Nichols' operations.
* Act as the technical safety and health resource to all Freese and Nichols staff.
* Implement proactive programs to reduce employee injury and illness rates, worker's compensation rates, and the company's experience modification rate (EMR).
* Routinely evaluate the company's safety and health performance through audits, assessments, and benchmarking. Develop and implement improvement opportunities based on the findings.
* Routinely report safety and health performance to Senior Management.
* Work closely with Freese and Nichols' Safety Committee, including driving agenda topics, conducting meetings, and implementing actions determined necessary by the Committee.
* Flexibility to travel to all office locations and project sites on a regular basis.
* Conduct internal and external compliance audits in offices and on construction projects. Report audit results as well as recommended actions to correct compliance deficiencies to Senior Leadership and work with operations managers to implement.
* Monitor applicable statutory compliance across the business. Track any new amendments and update standards periodically.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree
* 10 years' experience in safety and health
* Certified Safety Professional (Board of Certified Safety Professionals)
* Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, including 29 CFR Part 1910 (General Industry) and 29 CFR Part 1926 (Construction)
