Responsibilities

* Perform daily turnover and terminal cleaning of surgical suites including walls, ceilings, floors, and equipment.
* Transport patient beds and stretchers as necessary from patient areas to surgical suites.
* Assist with positioning and prepping the surgical patient, stocking supplies for the department, and delivering surgical specimens.
* With appropriate training, they may scrub to assist as needed in the surgical field to hold limbs, retractors, or cameras.
* Follow all guidelines set forth by the AORN Standards and Practices.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

* High School diploma or GED
* Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire

Preferred Job Requirements:

* Six months of experience as a patient care tech or surgical orderly
