Battery Regulatory & Communications Lead

Mahwah, NJ

What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a highly skilled electrical, battery technology, and communications lead to join our team The individual will be responsible for ensuring that our processes are compliant with all market regulatory requirements and will own the content & documentation shared within the market. This position will also be responsible for interactions with our Retailer network in areas of battery shipping & handling requirements, our HV Battery Aftersales Manual guidance, Parts & Service instructions, and any other battery-related guidance. This position will be at the Mahwah HQ (NJ) and report to the Head of US Battery Lifecycles Services team.

A Day in the life:

* Ownership of the HV battery (HVB) guidance provided to the Retailer market. Aftersales market content from BEV, PHEV to 48V, all associated product line variants, and the overall Battery Center strategy/approach.
* Development of communication process, revisions of all current documentation to ensure all relevant information is shared with our Retailers.
* Continually strive to improve the HVB Aftersales content to ensure ease of delivery, access, and readability for our Retailer network.
* Provide support in developing improvements around process gaps for battery repairs, neutralization, handling of battery materials to support the Battery Center and the retailer network.
* Collaborate with other OEMs to ensure our process is as effective and sufficient.
* You will manage your working time according to the project timeline, actively gathering information from other teams & collaborating.
* Conduct further analysis when collaboration is needed with CMQ/R&D.

What you will bring to Volvo:

* Bachelor's degree in engineering, electrical engineering (or technical related field) or communications with 2+ years proven equivalent work experience.
* 1+ years of experience in a communications or regulatory role - Experience in areas of battery technology, knowledge of high voltage batteries, regulatory compliance standards or related experiences would be a plus.
* General knowledge of electric vehicles and an ability to interact with our technical team regarding repair methods, procedures, and tools.
* Strong background in process and procedure development and improvements.
* Advanced Adobe, Microsoft Power Point and Excel, and Forms skills.
* Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally. (Approximately 15%)

* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written presentation, and communication skills.
* An ability to work with complex topics and steer discussion at the appropriate level of detail.
* It would be beneficial to have the experience in projects related to high voltage vehicles/batteries.
* Ability to drive change and influence people & synthesize complex topics into easy-to-understand terms.
