The Academic Interventionist is part of a dynamic team, working to meet the needs of every student in a diverse population. In coordination with teachers and administration, the Academic Interventionist provides in-class and pull-out support for students needing support or enrichment. The position includes communication and record keeping, as well as serving on two student support teams.

Essential Functions

  • Work with individual and small groups of students in and outside of the classroom
  • Maintain records of student progress
  • Coordinate with classroom teachers and school administrators
  • As a member of the Student Advocacy Team; help to identify students needing assistance or challenge work and provide resources
  • Provide support and resources to English language learners

  • Willingness to work as part of a team
  • Willingness to research resources and best practices
  • Understanding of language acquisition
  • Teaching credentials are a plus
