Position Summary
The Mental health Techinician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from young adult (17) through geriatrics depending on which unit worked. Mental Health Technicians work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
* Utilize sound judgement during assessment and observe and document any changes in a patients appearance, behavior, or ability to work toward treatment plan goals
* Follow therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient
* Comply with established policies and procedures requiring a safe, clean and therapeutic environment

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Degree or equivalent preferred; Certified Nursing Assistant required.
Experience: One year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR certification, and CPI Non-violent Crisis Intervention prior to assisting in restraining procedures. Must pass ACE Test with a C or higher. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
