The Division of Emergency Medicine at Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware is seeking to employ a full time Urgent Care Pediatrician. Applicants should be board-certified or eligible in General Pediatrics with 1-2 years of Urgent Care experience. However, new Pediatric Residency graduates will be considered. The successful candidate will function primarily at the Treatment Area (Urgent Care) side of the Emergency Department. Treatment Area is open daily from 8:00am to 1:00am and is staffed with two Emergency Nurses and one Emergency Technician. The provider team is comprised of experienced Pediatricians and Nurse Practitioners providing two day and two evening shifts per day. A Physician Assistant works collaboratively with physicians in an additional swing shift per day.

The team cares for children age 0 to 18 with selected medical complaints or injuries consistent with those cared for in most primary care offices or Urgent Care Centers.

This state-of-the-art Treatment Area is located within the main Emergency Department and has nine fully equipped examination rooms. Providers working in Treatment Area have access to all hospital laboratory and medical imaging facilities, as well as subspecialty consultants, and work cooperatively with the Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians in the main Emergency Department.

Academic appointments are available through the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.
