Join our team Laredo Medical Center's (LMC) PBX Department is currently seeking a FT Switchboard Operator to work at our 326 bed acute care hospital. The hospital is located in sunny Laredo, Texas, just 150 miles south of historic San Antonio. Read a full position description below.

Position's Purpose and Essential Functions:

Operates a switchboard or telephone console to route incoming calls and place outgoing calls. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Reports to PBX Supervisor.

Applicant's Job Requirements Include:

Education:

* Preferred: High School graduate or equivalent

Experience:

* Required: Dependable person with strong interpersonal, telephone and communication skills.
* Required: Bilingual in both Spanish and English required.
* Preferred: Six (6) months to one (1) year experience.
