Responsibilities
Responsible for the independent performance of technical procedures, including emergency and routine patient testing, quality control, and preventive maintenance. Participates in Quality Management processes as needed. Qualifies as a General Supervisor under CLIA, and may act as supervisor designate in the absence of the Section Manager or Section Supervisor. Demonstrates Leadership and Technical Expertise.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
* Education and Work Experience:
* Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
* A B.S. and successful completion of an accredited MT/MLS program.
* A B.S or A.A.in Chemistry, Biology, or other laboratory based Science including a Laboratory training program or accredited by the ABHES, NAACLS or HHS sanctioned reviewer, ASCP accreditation or equivalent.
* A B.S. or A.A. in Chemistry, Biology, or other laboratory based Science degree that includes 60 semester hours of medical lab technology courses or other sciences as specified by CLIA.
* 5 years prior experience in a licensed Clinical laboratory preferred.

* Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:

* Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
* Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
* Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
* Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
* Other Requirements:
* Meet M.T. Tier requirements for MT/MLS III and successfully complete the application process.
