Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and versatile individual to join our team as a Sports Information - Graduate Assistant. This role requires a passion for sports, solid writing skills, and the ability to create engaging content across various digital platforms. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of social media management, willing to learn, and have a solid understanding of sports statistics. Basic photography skills are essential, and additional graphic design, video/photo editing, and Microsoft Office skills are highly desirable. Must be willing to assist in various areas including, but not limited to, gameday set up and other office duties.

Responsibilities:

Content Creation:
    • Produce compelling and accurate journalistic content related to sports events, players, and industry trends.
    • Create engaging written pieces for various digital platforms, ensuring a consistent and captivating tone.

Social Media Management:
    • Manage and update social media channels with relevant and timely sports content.
    • Implement social media strategies to increase audience engagement and reach.

Sports Statistics:
    • Utilize your familiarity with sports statistics to enhance content with insightful data and analysis.
    • Stay informed about current sports trends and statistical developments.
    • Keep stats for but not limited to Volleyball, Basketball, Baseball, Softball,

Website Management:
  • Assist in updating rosters, schedules and other things as needed.

Optional Skills

Photography:
    • Capture high-quality and relevant sports images for articles and social media posts.
    • Ensure a visually appealing and cohesive representation of sports events through basic photography skills.

Graphic Design:
    • Create eye-catching graphics to accompany written content and enhance overall visual appeal.
    • Design engaging visuals for social media promotions and campaigns.

Video/Photo Editing:
    • Edit photos and videos to enhance visual storytelling and create dynamic multimedia content.
    • Contribute to producing video content, including highlights, interviews, and promotional materials.

Microsoft Office:
    • Utilize Microsoft Office tools for document creation, editing, and collaboration.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with a portfolio showcasing journalistic or sports-related content.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and a successful social media management track record.
  • Familiarity with sports statistics and the ability to integrate data into written and visual content.
  • Basic photography skills, with the ability to capture compelling sports imagery.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving industry trends.
  • Optional: Experience in graphic design, video/photo editing, and Microsoft Office proficiency.
