Job Title:

Fire Sprinkler System Designer/Project Manager

Job Summary:

Design fire protection sprinkler systems using the latest versions of 3D/BIM design software for a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential projects.

Qualifications:

* Minimum 2-4 years of fire sprinkler design experience
* Hydracad software experience
* Working knowledge of NFPA codes
* Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude
* High school diploma or equivalent. Preferably a graduate of a Tech/Trade School, Community College, or University
* NICET certification desired although not required
* Proficiency in MS Office and associated programs
* Self-motivated individual with good communication skills and willing to work in a team environment
* Strong organizational skills
* Valid driver's license with excellent driving record
* Candidates must successfully pass a drug test and a complete employment background check

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Design and layout of fire protection sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with applicable codes using NFPA standards and industry practices
* Read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications and contracts.
* Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards to the design and/or layout of the sprinkler systems based on the building type, construction type, hazard classification and architectural features.
* Perform field check of completed design to verify accuracy.
* Work closely with the team to understand the contract with the customer, the scheduling of the design process, and the delivery needs of the installation crew.
* Coordinate deliveries of system materials to the job site to meet the optimum installation start date.
* Follow all job site safety and protocol when performing field checks and attending on site meetings.
* Coordination with architects other building trades
* Material and Equipment Submittals
* Hydraulic Calculations
* Seismic Calculations
* Perform other related duties as required
