Key Responsibilities:
Assist Food Service Director in maintaining USDA National School Lunch and Breakfast Program guidelines and requirements pertaining to:
* Federal meal assistance program
* Menu Planning
* Meal Service
* Food service software
* USDA commodity utilization
* Daily production records
* Standard operating procedures
* Professional standards
Additional Responsibilities:
* Data entry of program information
* Process meal assistance applications and certifications
* Implement and maintain organizational policies and procedures
* Assist in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of new employees
* Oversee inventory control to ensure accurate stock levels
* Substitute in kitchens as necessary
* Student nutrition and wellness
* Support student nutrition related project based learning
* Perform additional related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a similar role with a degree in hospitality/nutrition/dietetics preferred
* Strong management and training skills to effectively coach and mentor employees
* Working knowledge of institutional kitchen equipment
* ServSafe certification
* Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities as required
* Exceptional organizational skills
* Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
* Proficient computer skills in MS Office and other platforms
* Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information
* Willingness to grow professionally

Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of telephone/email and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, and handle or feel objects. Some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, and repetitive motions. Requires ability to sit and stand for long periods to complete work. Regularly required to lift, move, and or carry up to 20 pounds, often up to 50 pounds.
