About the Opportunity
This position supports research activities exploring bioenergetic mechanisms associated with toxicological exposure.

What you'll do:
* Develop, perform, and execute molecular biology experiments: cloning, vector generation, transgenic and knockout mouse lines, RNA and DNA analyses.
* Develop, perform, and execute biochemical experiments; spectrophotometry, kinetics, protein analyses, fluorescence based techniques, flow cytometry.
* Develop, perform, and execute bioinformatic analyses on genomic, transcriptomic and proteomic data.
* Integrative analysis of omic data (genomics, epigenomics, metabolomics, proteomics).
* Bioinformatics data analysis (RNASeq, CLIPSeq, and other NGS technologies) across several therapeutic areas.
* Develop, perform, and execute mitochondrial analyses of function, structure and dynamics.
* Develop and conduct experimental approach for assigned projects.
* Supervise graduate and undergraduate students.
* Prepare manuscripts for publication.
* Develop new research proposals for funding agencies.
* Share research findings and make presentations at scientific conferences.
* Doctoral degree in biology, biochemistry, engineering or related field.
* Strong theoretical and experimental background.
* Skilled in some combination of the following areas:
a. Bioinformatics
b. Mitochondrial analyses
c. Metabolism, metabolomics, proteomics, genomics
* Skilled at using scientific rules and methods to solve problems.
* Skilled at identifying complex problems and evaluating options for implementing solutions.
* Ability to document and present the research results.
* Ability to write manuscripts for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
* Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
* Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.).
* Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
* Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
* Ability to collect data and draw valid conclusions.
* Ability to meet deadlines, as well as prepare, present and report results effectively.
* Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of co-investigators from diverse disciplines and organizations.
* Ability to do strategic planning for program development.
