Education: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency plus additional
secretarial training equivalent to one (1) year
Qualifications: Positive human relations skills. Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Experience with a variety of computer applications (Google, Microsoft Office). Knowledge of records management systems.
Job Goal: Perform duties that assist the principal(s) in the operation of the school.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Function as school building secretary, promoting positive interactions with students, staff and parents.
- Maintain school calendar.
- Assist with the maintenance of school records and student transcripts.
- Maintain student and staff confidentiality in all circumstances.
- Perform clerical duties such as managing and directing inquiries, filing, mail, operating electronic door system, and scheduling appointments on a daily basis.
- Track attendance and absences for teachers and students using Absence Management and Power School software and generate reports accordingly.
- Perform general bookkeeping functions; collect and receipt revenues including student fees, participation fees, gate receipts, and fund-raising activities.
- Provide general first aid and medication as needed. (Training is required).
- Facilitate purchases of general supplies and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.
Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties; Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.
Terms of Employment: Ten (10) months
Evaluation: Annual written evaluation by the Supervisor.
